Hi, I'm Matt Walker, I'm the Managing Director of IT Security and Compliance at Goosehead Insurance.
Right now, that's becoming the new shadow IT, you know, back in the day, everybody would install an app on their PC and now everybody just goes out to a website. Valence allows us to control a lot of that, to have visibility into a lot of that, and to help us define a better security posture for the platforms that we can integrate with.
The prioritization of SSPM really was around file exposures to the internet. Valence allowed us to see what platforms were exposing data that we didn't necessarily know about. And we were able to come in and quickly eliminate those file exposures. We chose Valence because of the visibility that it gives us into multiple platforms.
The integration capability spans a range of technologies that we had gaps in visibility for. And Valence answered that use case perfectly for us. The impact that Valence has made for us is it's allowed us to operate a more lean and streamlined security department.
Without Valence, we would have to hire three or four people. And with Valence, the way that the tool works allows us to quickly close some of the cybersecurity gaps that we have without the need for additional manpower. So, the time savings that Valence has helped us achieve has been in the thousands of hours and we were able to achieve that time savings in days. It is amazing how quickly you're able to stand up the Valence platform, how quickly it's able to find where exposures exist, and then how quickly it's able to automatically remediate those things.
Literally, it's button clicks over the course of one or two days. Whereas the outstanding effort to do it manually would be in the thousands of hours. Valence does report against configurations of the platforms that we have integrated for how they align with things like the NIST frameworks, or how they align with things like the iso frameworks or the SOC 2 requirements.
And Valence is able to tell us based on the configurations that it can see where we need to go in and strengthen our posture to align with those frameworks better. So, it's helped us speed up where we had potential gaps and get those things fixed so that we can easily pass some of those more difficult compliance aspects that exist across platforms.
The buy-in now has been phenomenal, right? We're able to demonstrate an immediate win. With Valence, we were able to demonstrate an immediate ROI with Valence. And at this point, executive leadership here wants to continue down that maturity that we've started the experience so far with Valence has been awesome.
The support has been great. The tool itself has been rock solid. And the answers that it's really helped us get to have been on point every time."
